Barbecue areas and wind shelters

Food often tastes best when you are outside. Grilling your food over an open fire is a wonderful experience. In Skrylle there are many nice barbecue areas and shelters to crawl into in bad weather. It costs nothing to borrow a barbecue area, but some barbecue areas need to be booked, while others are free to use.

Our numbered barbecue areas closest to Skryllegården are free to use, but most must be booked at Book a barbecue area.

There are many barbecue areas in Skrylleskogen that do not need to be booked. You can find these in Måryd Nature Reserve and in the Dalby area, among others.

Wind protection

There are windbreaks at barbecue areas 3–6 and 12.
There is an extra large wind shelter at the Belsebo barbecue area.
Note: The wind shelter in Risen Nature Reserve can no longer be booked.

Booking rules

Weekends and public holidays: booking up to 3 hours between 10 am and 5 pm.
For overnight stays, the shelters can be booked between 5 p.m. and 10 a.m.
Weekdays: maximum 24 hours.
Only book the time you will use the barbecue area.
Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance.

Important to consider

Cancel if you do not intend to use the space.
Follow the rules of the nature reserve: do not break branches and avoid loud noises.
Firewood is available for purchase at reception.
Bring your own can of water to put out the fire.
Always leave the barbecue area clean, and make sure the fire is completely extinguished.

Barbecue area 1 – Campfire

On an open area approximately 500 meters south of Skryllegården, close to the Belsebo wind shelter.

Barbecue area 2 – In Ur and Skur

Located directly adjacent to the parking lot. There are tables and benches here and the grill is elevated.

Barbecue area 3 – Skogsmulle

Located in a cozy forest clearing east of Skryllegården. There is a shelter from the wind.

Barbecue area 4 – Salmon

Grill area 4 is located in the northwest corner of Elin's meadow, about 700 meters walk from Skryllegården.

Barbecue area 5 – Nova

Located in a clearing next to Stockstugan east of Skryllegården. There is a shelter from the wind here.

Barbecue area 6 – Fjällfina

Located in a forest clearing east of Skryllegården. There are two shelters here, 6a and 6b, which can be booked separately.

Barbecue area 7 – Skrinnna

A small barbecue area located a little out of the way in a forest clearing east of Skryllegården.

Barbecue area 8 – Tallängen

Located about 500 meters east of Skryllegården surrounded by deciduous forest and junipers.

Barbecue area 9 – Skogsknytte

Located in the beech forest south of Skryllegården and directly adjacent to barbecue area 10.

Barbecue area 10 – Forest knob

Located in the beech forest south of Skryllegården and directly adjacent to barbecue area 9.

Barbecue area 11 – Wege

The barbecue area is located along the accessible "Lätta spåret" trail.

Barbecue area 12 – Free roamers

Located in a birch forest west of Skryllegården.

Barbecue area 13 – Mullekojan

Located next to Belsebo and "Skogsmulle's hut" south of Skryllegården.

Barbecue area 14 – Stroller

Located in the large open area of Elins Äng with the beech forest close by.

Belsebo

A uniquely designed shelter where large groups can stay overnight. In the middle of the shelter is a barbecue area.

Barbecue area Måryd

In the Måryd nature reserve north of Skryllegården there is a nice barbecue area next to Boijsen's ponds.

Barbecue area Burned plot

At Brända tomten just north of Dalby there are two barbecue areas.

Barbecue area Dalbybadet

At Dalbybadet there is a barbecue house directly adjacent to Skrylleskogen.

Barbecue area Tree path

Easiest to reach from Hällestadsvägen parking lot or from Dalbybadet.

Barbecue area Billebjer

Adjacent to the water-filled old quarry at Billebjer you will find a barbecue area surrounded by low benches.

Barbecue area Gläntan

About 100 meters south of Skryllegården and signage is available along the small path down towards Belsebo.

Barbecue area Nature play

At the nature play area there are two barbecues and plenty of benches.

Barbecue area The Hill

Near the hill in the southwestern part of the large lawn in front of Skryllegården is a barbecue area surrounded by low benches.

Barbecue area Viltvattnet

When you turn off the road between Södra Sandby and Dalby towards Rögle dammar, there is a parking lot on the left after about 200 meters.

Barbecue areas Blue trail

After about 700 meters of walking counterclockwise along the blue trail, you will reach two barbecue areas on the left side and one on the right.

Barbecue area Måryds parking lot

At the edge of the forest a stone's throw from the parking lot in Måryd there is a small grill surrounded by low benches.

Barbecue areas Rögle ponds

At Rögle dammar there are two barbecue huts with a raised barbecue surrounded by high benches.
