Gyltan Game Hideout

The Gyltan wildlife hideout is part of the Skrylle nature center. Here you can mainly spot wild boars that are attracted to the place by feeding, but if you are lucky you will see deer, fallow deer, foxes, badgers and forest birds.

The barn has room for 8 people to sit comfortably and watch. The house has a toilet (to be used in an emergency as the noise can scare the animals) and underfloor heating.

There is no guarantee that you will see animals and it is important to move carefully inside Gyltan, speak softly and not go out once you have entered. Since the wild boars are fed on site and are used to the proximity of people, there is a good chance that you will experience them alone, but keep as still and quiet as possible. We are careful that curious visitors do not go down to the back of the building so that the animals are not frightened. It is not allowed to use Gyltan during the day or to feed the animals. Anyone who has booked has access to the hide from 4 pm to 9 am the next day.  Information sheet can be picked up at reception or at the naturum.

Reservation

Bookings are made through Skryllegården's reception, tel: 046-585 25.

The roe deer can be booked in the evening for a fee of 200 SEK. When you are going to sit in the hide, you should come in the evening, preferably an hour before dusk. You can go home later in the evening or sit and watch all night if you want. The animals are most active during dusk and dawn.

Would you like to sit in Gyltan with someone who can tell you about the animals? Contact Anders Olsson 0768-45 95 39 or Håkan Sonesson 0709-82 93 38.

Directions

From Skryllegården it is about 1.5 kilometers to Gyltan.

Naturum Skrylle's wildlife hideout Gyltan has been built through a nature conservation project (LONA) so that more people will have the opportunity to experience the wild Skrylle.
